Vacation Day 1

1) Buckled down and got all the materials needed to start making decorations for H's dol. As for actually STARTING the work...that's for tomorrow.

2) Matt FINALLY put up Christmas lights. Compared to some of the other houses in the neighborhood, our casa looks totally amateur but it's ok because we're still quasi-rookies. I plan on hitting up the clearance after Christmas to build up our inventory for next year.

3) Christmas tree is up! I waited until H was down for the night before hanging the ornaments. We'll see how he reacts to it in the morning. I left the lower third bare just in case he gets grab-happy. I read that heat can dry out real trees so I have yet to put lights on even in previous years but I can't help but think it looks like something is missing. Does anyone have any pointers regarding putting lights on real trees?
