Black is such a strong word

For the past 4 years I've sufferred from a condition that causes me to wake up at an ungodly hour the day after Thanksgiving to brave the crowds of other zombie-like creatures in search of TV's, computers or plush bath towels at unvelievable prices. I didn't even let a little thing like being almost 9 mo preggo stop me last year. (I was secretly hoping all that walking around would induce labor. Fail.) You may think I'm cray cray but the early morning adventures have always ended successfully. I get all my Christmas shopping done, and then some, with money left to spare.

This year I have one single mission. That is to get my hands on these beauties:

Not only are they HALF off but they come in one of my fav colors. Best Buy opens their doors at 5 am but I've heard stories of lines forming HOURS in advance. They also have a great system in place where they hand out tickets Willy Wonka style on a first come, first serve basis. According to their website:

Ticketing will help to ensure the safety of both Best Buy customers and employees when the stores open.

Which basically means: we know you blood thirsty animals will scratch, claw & trample your way to a screaming deal so this is our attempt at minimzing casualties. A part of me is hoping that since a lot of merchants had early Black Fridays events, the demand won't be as high. So here's my gameplan: arrive at the battle grounds at 4 am. If I'm able to score a golden ticket for my cherry lovelies, mission accomplished. If my hopes are crushed by people who are crazier than me and get there earlier then I'll try my luck at Sears.

May the best man win.

  1. Fail. We didn't get there until 5 am and by that time, the line had already wrapped around the building. There's always next year. Sigh.
